Religious Life Scholars

The Emory University OSRL Religious Life Scholars are a select group of doctoral students and graduates who represent some of the major religious and philosophical traditions at Emory.

The Scholars support their respective spiritual communities by being a public presence and resource, offering invocations and benedictions at key university events such as convocations and baccalaureate services, and by hosting celebrations of holidays important in each tradition.

The Religious Life Scholars serve as a bridge between formal religious study and the practice of religion in the campus community. The Scholars also build relationships with the student organizations that serve their respective spiritual communities, and with community members who are seeking to deepen their knowledge of these spiritual traditions.

Some of our Religious Life Scholars represent traditions that do not have formal structures to serve as sending bodies from their traditions to the campus community. In those cases, the Scholars serve as advisors in the university for campus community members who are part of their spiritual tradition.
